Ever read something so badly written that you begin internally editing while you're reading? When you're finished, you realize you have no idea what the content said.
Writing teachers caution about our internal editors critiquing ourselves as we write. Often it can paralyze our writing process for that session. But, I don't think anyone ever warned us about turning off the self-edit while we're reading. Or maybe, we could just stop reading bad writing. . .
