Syria next?

A small article on page four of the weekend edition of
USA TODAY talks about the U.S. sanctions imposed on Syria this week. It seems that we think Syria has not done enough to address our allegations about terrorism and pursuit of unconventional weapons. Sanctions include a ban on U.S. exports to Syria except food, medicine, telecommunications and aircraft safety equipment, that banks sever ties with the state-owned Commercial Bank of Syria, but investments in Syria's oil and gas industry can continue! Does this sound scarily familiar?
